Musings of an Uncompassionate Gatorphobe

Since the shooting in Orlando by Omar Mateen, a Muslim who said he was carrying the attack in honor of “God the Merciful”, the Democrats have predictably blamed the massacre on guns and the Republicans. Occasionally a lone common sense voice might suggest that perhaps bringing people into the country who want to kill us might not be a good idea but that voice is quickly drowned out with cries of islamophobia and racism and demands for gun control.

Shortly before the shooting attack in Orlando an alligator drowned Lane Graves, a 2 year old boy in the same city.

These two seemingly unrelated tragedies have a lot in common.

Often after terrorist attacks we find out that the FBI had information which if they had acted on could have prevented the attack. Similarly before the Graves tragedy, Disney management knew there were alligators in its lagoon.

Disney had no signs warning about the alligators by the lake where the alligator was that attacked Lane Graves. That might have scared off some of their customers. Not long before the tragedy an alligator followed a 5 year old boy at Disney. The boy's father complained to a manager at Disney who told him not to worry and that the alligators were harmless resident pets that wouldn’t attack anyone. Likewise we are often told not to worry about Muslim immigrants by the Obama administration and that Islam is a religion of peace. In fact the Obama administration goes one step further and purges evidence that Islam is not a religion of peace.

Wealthy guests enjoyed feeding the alligators and of course keeping wealthy guests happy is important for Disney. Likewise campaign donations from rich countries like Saudi Arabia could dry up if the United States is seen as blocking Islamic immigration and as being Islamophobic.

A quick hunt for the alligator turned up five of them. We can only speculate how many sleeper terrorists would be found in the United States if the FBI were allowed to hunt for them. “We are going to make sure that we have the alligator that is involved” said Nick Wiley executive director of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. “There is a good chance that we already have the alligator.” The assumption being made by Mr. Wiley is that the alligator that drowned the child is more dangerous than the other alligators. That belief is shared by the Florida legislature, which has outlawed killing of alligators in Florida unless they are considered “nuisance” alligators.

Lets assume for a moment that the majority of alligators will not attack humans and that the majority of Muslims will not attack infidels. Was allowing alligators into Disney worth the death of little Lane Graves? Were the deaths at the nightclub in Orlando worth bringing in hundreds of thousands of refugees many of whom do not like us or our way of life?

My gator-phobia stems from the fact that there is no way to know which alligator is moderate and which is extremist until they drown someone and if you let in a lot of immigrants from countries full of Jihadis it may be too late when people find out that some were not as moderate as President Obama said they were. Omar Mateen had considered carrying out a terrorist attack on Disney, it could have been Mateen and not the alligator who killed a child at Disney.

Left wing environmentalists would have us believe that it is compassionate to allow alligators to live together with people in Florida. The left would have us believe that President Obama is being compassionate when he brings Muslims into the United States by the hundreds of thousands.

Two year old Lane Graves died because of Disney’s compassion to alligators and to its wealthy guests. 50 more people died shortly afterwards because of America’s compassion to an Afghan extremist whose son shared that extremism. Many other Americans are becoming victims of crime committed by the Muslim immigrants who Obama is placing in their communities against their will, which he claims he is doing out of compassion. How many more American’s will be killed before we realize that those who claim to be compassionate are not and those who they accuse of being phobic have fears that are not irrational in the least.
