Quiz on "Nerves"

Important Instructions for Taking Quiz

There are two kinds of questions those with circles in front of the answers and those with squares in front of the answers.  The ones with circles have only one answer.  The ones with squares can have more than one answer but might only have one answer. Lets say a question has 2 right answers and you check the correct boxes but you also check two boxes that are the wrong answer. You will get a score of zero on the question even though 2 of the answers were correct.

What is a synapse

The junction between a neuron and another neuron
The junction between a neuron and a muscle cell
An area which neurotransmitters travel across.
An area where electric signals jump from one neuron to another.

How does a neuron play a role in thinking.

It combines input signals.
Depending on the nature and amount of input signals it fires or does not fire an axon.
It gets output signals from other neurons
It causes muscles to contract.

How does a neuron learn?

It grows more dendrites depending on neural stimulation.
It grows more axons depending on neural stimulation.
It changes how much it responds to signals in each dendrite depending on its inputs.
