The Cancellation of Sydney Watson

Sydney is a terrific online video maker who was banned from Patreon.  Patreon spoke about attacking a protected group.  What makes some groups protected and some not.  Why isn't Sydney part of a protected group?  Are there protected violent groups?  If you criticize those groups should you be banned?  Patreon says somehting like "While we believe in free speech we can't tolerate your speech".  That's the standard thing the banners generally do, they pretend to care about free speech.  They care about their own free speech.
