15.2 The Effect of Marijuana on People Who Don't Take It

The known risks of secondhand exposure to tobacco smoke—including risks to the heart and lungs—raise questions about whether secondhand exposure to marijuana smoke causes similar health risks. Secondhand marijuana smoke contains many of the same toxic and cancer-causing chemicals found in tobacco smoke and contains some of those chemicals in higher amounts.

THC can be passed to infants and children through secondhand smoke, and people exposed to secondhand marijuana smoke can experience psychoactive effects, such as feeling high. That is a warning sign that THC has entered the blood stream and is doing damage.  Marijuana is known to interfere with brain development in children and it often leads to psychosis as explained in the previous lesson.

Marijuana users are more likely to die and kill others in car accidents.

Want to go on vacation in the beautiful outdoors?  That is becoming less and less safe because of marijuana.

Can you stay in your hometown instead of going away on vacation and be safe?  That too is becoming less safe due to marijuana.  Drug addicts need money to buy more drugs and steal it from others.   Drug sellers get into fights with addicts who haven't paid.  Gangs have shooting wars over who can sell drugs in a given location and innocent bystanders get shot.  People who are high on marijuana are more likely to be violent.

The following is a horror story about what the marijuana growers are doing to California.
