Homosexuals were considered in a negative way by Western society in the past. They still are considered in a negative way and are punished severely by radical Muslim groups and Muslim countries such as Iran.

The belief that homosexuality is a sin is in the bible.
There are seven texts often cited by Christians to condemn homosexuality: Noah and Ham (Genesis 9:20–27), Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19:1–11), Levitical laws condemning same-sex relationships (Leviticus 18:22, 20:13), two words in two Second Testament vice lists (1 Corinthians 6:9–10; 1 Timothy 1:10), and Paul's letter to the Romans (Romans 1:26–27).
The bible condemns homosexuality as a sin. Here are two verses from the third book of the bible, Leviticus.
Leviticus 18:22 "Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin." (NLT) Leviticus 20:13 "If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense."

Homosexual acts are forbidden in traditional Islamic jurisprudence and are liable to different punishments, including flogging, stoning, and the death penalty,
So homosexuals are oppressed severely in some Muslim countries. Some homosexuals and homosexual groups however are oppressors.
They force homosexual pornography on little kids.
