One of the reasons relativity is hard to understand is that we are taught incorrect information about relativity. For example we are taught that if someone is moving their clock is slower than ours. That doesn't make sense because from their perspective we could be the ones moving. Then our clock should be slower than theirs. Both clocks can't be slower than each other. Paradoxes like these ones don't make sense and so make it impossible to understand relativity.
The fact is the clocks don't move slower, we just measure them to be slower. In otherwords if you have two rockets moving in space each with their own clocks the person in one space ship would measure the clock in the other space ship as going slower. The clock isn't actually going slower it's measured as going slower.
