There is reason to believe there is a lot of fraud in California as well.
California's proposed Assembly Bill 2624 (AB 2624), nicknamed the "Stop
Nick Shirley Act" by critics, is a bill sponsored by Assemblymember Mia
Bonta that would make investigations like the one done by Nick Shirley's illegal
on the grounds that it is harrassment. Opponents, including YouTuber Nick
Shirley, argue it criminalizes citizen journalism and exposes of fraudulent
activities. That's probably why Mia Bonta sponsored the bill.
Nick Shirley's investigation led to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to increase its efforts to arrest immigrants involved in fraud, human trafficking, and other crimes. Senator Ilhan Omar of Minnesota most likely benefited from this fraud (her wealth increased from 50,000 to $30 million dollars in a few years). To divert attention from the fraud she has made speeches encouraging Minnesotans to fight ICE. There have been large protests against ICE. Here is a video about an attack on an ICE agent.
Mayor Mamdani wants to get money for freebies that he promised New Yorkers by taxing the rich. The problem with that idea is it drives the rich out of New York so that he will wind up with fewer taxes. New Yorkers pay very high taxes. Where is the money going? Shouldn't there be enough to house the homeless, heal the sick, etc.. According to Giuliani there is massive fraud in New York.
