9.20c What About the Accusations of Genocide Against Israel, Part 3?
Who elected Hamas to run Gaza? The answer is the civilians living in Gaza. Jonathan Neumann wrote an article titled How Innocent Are Gaza Civilians? in which he points out that many civilians of Gaza rejoiced at the successful attack on Israel. He added:
Worse still is the sickening fact that ordinary Gazans themselves participated in the October 7th attack. -Many of those who engaged in the violence, pillaging, rapes, burning and dismemberment – including of children – were not Hamas fighters at all but the mob of civilians that followed them over the border.
When hostages were taken into Gaza, it was ordinary civilians who spat on them or their corpses as they were paraded through their streets, and it was they who directed or permitted their children to torment the Israeli kids whom Hamas had taken captive, for all the world to see.

One of the hostages tells how she was kidnapped by civilians and then sold to Hamas. Another said nurses cheered when she was brought to the hospital. Hamas has used hospitals to imprison hostages perhaps assuming that if Israel tried to liberate them world headlines would say "Israel attacks hospital". A poll found that over 70% of Palestinians supported Hamas's October 7 attack in which they murdered 1200 Israelis. The number of Palestinians who support it as of July 2024 in Gaza has gone down a lot.
Mia Schem was a hostage held and abused by a civilian family in Gaza. Here is what she had to say about innocent Palestinians.
She was also held by Hamas in a cage in a tunnel with other Israeli women. You can watch her speak about that below.
Gazan civilians kidnapped the Bibas children and their mother.
In February 2025, as part of the ceasefire agreement with Israel Hamas said they would release the dead bodies of 8 Month Old Kfir Bias, 4 Year Old Ariel Bibas and their mother, Shiri.
The following video was probably made by a member of Hamas and not a civilian. He calls home to tell Mom and Dad the exciting news about the Jews he killed. His mother seems to be very proud of him and wants to be with him. His father seems to want him to come home.
The name of the man calling home was Mahmoud Afana who is in the picture below. Israel killed him 2 years later.
There are Gaza civilians who are very against Hamas. Here is a video in which you can hear them.
South Africa brought a case accusing Israel of genocide of Palestinians against Israel in the International Court of Justice. This is very hypocritical since South Africa is a country in which the leader of a major political party has called for the killing of white farmers. South African blacks have murdered many white farmers as the documentary Farmlands shows. Here is an excerpt of what a spokesman for Israel said at the trial. It is important because it helps explain why Israel does what it does.
It is impossible to understand the armed conflict in Gaza, without appreciating the nature of the threat Israel is facing, and the brutality and lawlessness of the armed force confronting it.. Astonishingly, the Court has been requested to indicate a provisional measure calling on Israel to suspend its military operations. But this amounts to an attempt to deny Israel its ability to meet its legal obligations to the defense of its citizens, to the hostages, and to over 110,000 internally displaced Israelis unable to safely return to their homes. In the Applicant’s telling, it is almost as if there is no intensive armed conflict taking place between two parties at all, no grave threat to Israel and its citizens, only an Israeli assault against Gaza. The Court is told of widespread damage to buildings, but it is not told, for example, how many thousands of these buildings were destroyed because they were booby-trapped by Hamas, how many became legitimate targets because of the strategy of using civilian objects and protected sites for military purposes, how many buildings were struck by over 2000 indiscriminate terrorist rockets that misfired and landed in Gaza itself. The Court is told of over 23,000 casualties, as the Applicant repeats, as many have, unverified statistics provided by Hamas itself—hardly a reliable source. Every civilian casualty in this conflict is a human tragedy that demands our compassion. But the Court is not told how many thousands of casualties are in fact militants, how many were killed by Hamas fire, how many were civilians taking direct part in hostilities, and just how many are the tragic result of legitimate and proportionate use of force against military targets... The Applicant purports to describe the reality in Gaza. But it is as if Hamas, and its total contempt for civilian life, just do not exist as a direct cause of that reality.
While there are massive protests against Israel throughout the West and UN sessions condemning Israel and nightly news casts about Gaza there aren't any about the real genocide and famine that is going on in Syria in 2025, Sudan (May 2024) or about the genocide of Christians in Nigeria and the murder of Christians in the Congo.
