6.15 The Identity Lie
My son told me he saw a sign on the wall in his school that said "One in 14 people are born gay therefore chances are that someone you know is gay". How do the people who put up that sign know if people are born gay or not? No one has found a gene that forces people to engage in homosexual behavior.
Occasionally some irritating homosexual will come along and say, no sorry, I wasn't born that way, I chose to be that way.
Robin Goodspeed is an ex-lesbian. She wrote the following:
I was not born a homosexual. I was not ‘born that way.’ There is no scientific proof, or proof of any kind, that there is a homosexual gene or that homosexuals are ‘born that way.’ I was sexually molested at the age of 2 and I began making choices at that age that lead to a life of homosexuality. I chose that life and I clung desperately to the lie that I was ‘born that way’ so I would never be held accountable for my choices.
A former transgender was asked if transgenders are born that way. He answered:
There is no evidence that transgenders are born that way. There is, however, evidence that they are suffering from untreated mental disorders such as bipolar disorder, dissociative disorder, separation anxiety, schizophrenia, and personality disorder. I go into this in depth in my book, Paper Genders.
On October 26, 2012 my wife was watching a show called "Say Yes To the Dress". It is about bridesmaids trying on dresses for a wedding. The woman getting married was heterosexual and her bridesmaid was a lesbian. What was unusual was that the bridesmaid was her identical twin. How can one be born a lesbian and the other be born a heterosexual if they are identical twins?
There are other examples of identical twins such as Jason and Jarron Collins in which one is gay and one is not. The fact that there are many ex-homosexuals also speaks against the genetic argument. If they were born homosexual and they can't help being homosexual than how did they stop being homosexual?
Janet Boynes had an abusive childhood and also didn't fit what she calls the cookie-cutter image of what a woman should be. She wrote that this drove her to search for love and acceptance in the homosexual community. I interpret this to mean that men didn't treat her well. She started with a heterosexual life style switched to a lesbian homosexual lifestyle and then became a heterosexual Christian minister. She was not "born that way" as many in the homosexual community would like us to believe. In her autobiography she wrote:
"When I was living in homosexuality, I knew I was sinning. The Bible told me, my conscience told me, and many people in my life told me. Unfortunately, I also had many people telling me that what I was doing was simply a lifestyle choice and not a sin... Instead of condemning, let us offer a helping hand to those who struggle with homosexuality, or any other sin, and let us encourage one another toward righteousness... My own experience as a former lesbian leads me to believe that many in the homosexual community are searching for love and acceptance... I desperately needed to find love, to feel loved and to experience love."
Janet found love and strength in Jesus because she chose to believe in Jesus's love. Perhaps counseling that helps people find love is a better option than looking for love in sexual encounters with the same sex. A psychiatrist and rabbi, Abraham Twersky wrote a book called "Like Yourself and Others will Too" which shows many case studies about how a lot of problems people have finding love stem from not accepting and liking themselves. The Christian message is that as long as you believe in Jesus, God loves you the way you are no matter what you have done wrong and no matter what your faults may be.
Cynthia Nixon is an actress known for her role in Sex and The City. In a 2012 interview with New York Times Magazine, she said that homosexuality was, for her, a choice.
The blogger John Aravosis was one of many critics who pounced on Nixon. “Every religious right hatemonger is now going to quote this woman every single time they want to deny us our civil rights.” Aravosis leveled the same accusations against Brandon Ambrosino in 2014 when Brandon wrote a piece for The New Republic din which Brandon wrote that his gay behavior was a choice. Calling Brandon “idiotic” and “patently absurd”, Aravosis wrote, “The gay haters at the religious right couldn’t have written it any better.”
John Aravosis is showing us why many gays insist that they are born that way. They believe that if they don't say that gays are born that way, it helps make the case of people who disapprove of homosexual behavior. The idea is people who disapprove of homosexuals can't fault them if homosexuals can't help it and are born that way but if gays have a choice than they are responsible for their actions.
A writer named John Ward when speaking about the "born that way" argument said, “Just because an argument is politically expedient doesn’t make it true.”
Another lie some homosexuals and liberals tell is to say that people who disapprove of homosexuality are against love. The Christian and Jewish religious texts say homosexuality is wrong but both religious are for brotherly and sisterly love and friendship. Leviticus is one of the books of the old testament which is a bible of both Jews and Christians. Leviticus 19:18 says "Love your fellow as yourself". Leviticus 19:34 says "Love the stranger as thyself".
Minister Janet Boynes wrote:
our place is not to judge; our place is to love and to support each other as we all try to become more Christ-like. Let us lift up those who are struggling and encourage them in love to stop sinning and turn toward a relationship with Jesus Christ.
A term that has become popular in 2024 is abrosexual which means a person whose sexuality changes over time. The idea is that A person may be attracted to different genders at different times of their life or have varying levels of sexual attraction. If you believe the people who make identity arguments this is in effect saying my identity was heterosexual and then changed to homosexual or vice versa. That would mean your identity can change. On the other hand people who say they are abrosexual say that is their identity.
What about transgender people? Are they a person with another gender trapped in the wrong body? During pride month, my son's teacher asked his class "What does transgender mean?" A student answered "A transgender is someone who decided to change their gender." The teacher said:
"That's not true, they were always that gender but now they are able to express themselves and are taking certain actions to be the gender they always were."
We can see from the testimonies in these lessons (here and here and here) that a lot of "transgenders" are kids who were confused by adults and by other kids into believing that they were a different gender when they weren't. We learn that these kids took hormones and even had surgery, thinking that would make them happy and solve their problems, before realizing they made a big irreversible mistake.
An argument I read for not telling parents was that only children know if they're transgender or not. The people who are against schools telling parents about it see parents as oppressors of their children who are forcing them to be the wrong sex. The problem with this reasoning is that schools are the ones who are convincing children that they are the wrong sex.
Dude, whoever he or she or zie is, made a list of genders and there are over a hundred and twelve that people have made up as of 2023.
People who say they are trans often want to be called by different pronouns. Is there anything wrong with that? If biological males want to be called "she" why not call that person a she? If people are unfortunate souls trapped in the wrong body why not say whatever it is that makes them feel better? Even if they aren't why not tell a lie if it makes them feel better?
Most women don't feel comfortable with biological men in their locker rooms. If they go along with the lie that those men are women how can they keep them out of their locker rooms? Women have been assaulted by men who said they identified as women in the women's bathroom.

Most women don't think it's fair if men compete in sports with them and win scholarships or prizes that otherwise they might have won. If real women go along with the lie that those men are women how can they justify keeping those men out of their sports competitions? What about hormones? If you agree with the lie that a girl is a male trapped in a female body than when your sister decides she's a boy, how can you oppose hormones that will make her grow a beard? What if she decides to have a medical operation that will cut off parts of her body. How can you oppose that if, in order to avoid getting her upset, you agreed that she is a boy trapped in a girls body?
Congressman Dan Crenshaw of Texas joined the navy and became a navy SEAL. During a mission in Afghanistan he was hit by an explosive and lost sight in both his eyes. After several surgeries he regained sight in one of his eyes. He asked the question of what would happen if one day his daughter would tell a doctor "I want to be like Dad, I want one eye". You can see him ask the question in the video below.
Megyn Kelly, host of the Megyn Kelly talk show, used to believe that she should call people by whatever pronoun they wanted to be called so that they would feel better. She has changed her mind in a big way. She explains why in the video below. I have edited this video to make it a little less shocking for kids but it still is disturbing and if you're 10 years old and younger you might want to ask your parents to check it out and decide if it's OK for you to watch it. You can see the original longer and even more disturbing video instead by clicking here.
Some words you should know before watching the video.
Malleable means easily changeable. Amputated means cut off. Detransitioners means people who changed their mind about changing their sex and decided to stop taking hormones. Panacea means a solution or cure for all problems and diseases.
The mother in the video below came to a school board meeting dressed up as a cat. Is she a cat?
A lot of kids now identify as animals or maybe they pretend to, it's hard to say.
