Voter Stupidity and Economics

Why Not Just Tax the Corporations and the Rich

Republicans generally get votes by telling voters that they will cut their taxes.  Democrats generally get votes by telling voters they will provide aid or free services and benefits.  There is a saying that there is no free lunch which means that someone has to pay for it.  That is true about the services and benefits that the Democrats promise. There are two ways that the Democrats get the money for those benefits  One is by raising taxes or by borrowing and printing it.  Wait a minute some smart person reading this might ask?  You told us that you would provide us free benefits but you are taxing us for that benefit.  So it isn't free.

This question is a problem for Democrats when they want to get votes.  So they came up with an answer.  The answer is we'll tax the rich and the corporations.  No one earning less than $400,000 or some other number will be taxed more. If they tax the corporations the costs are passed on to the consumer of the corporations products (you).
