7.17 The Accomplishments of Donald J Trump

Trump wrote in one of his books that people shouldn't be afraid to toot their own horn, meaning to be successful in life you shouldn't be afraid to tell people about your accomplishments.  The Democrats take advantage of that and make fun of that.  Bill Clinton a former Democrat president of the United States joked "He mostly talks about himself, so the next time you hear him, don’t count the lies. Count the I’s."  In this one sentence Bill Clinton accused Trump of lying and being a narcissist.  A lot of what Democrats say are lies aren't and they lie plenty.  The one thing Trump doesn't toot his horn about is the many acts of kindness he has done.  Here is a video about that.

Rioters were setting fires in Los Angeles in June 2025 when Trump sent the National Guard in to help.   There, a federal judge in September (maybe end of August) 2025 objected to the president's decision  to deploy troops to Los Angeles, saying the move violated a law known as the Posse Comitatus Act, which sharply limits the use of the military for domestic purposes. The White House has appealed.

Washington DC was full of crime until one day Trump decided to do something about it.  You can hear Trump speak about the incredible transformation of Washington DC from a place where people were afraid to walk on the street to a safe place by clicking here.  The attorney general for the District of Columbia announced on September 4, 2025 that the nation's capital is suing the Trump administration over the deployment of National Guard troops within the city's boundaries, alleging the violation amounts to an unconstitutional, "involuntary military occupation."  Chicago is another of many crime ridden cities in the U.S..  Trump said he's save that city too.  The anti-Trump press described his offer to save Chicago as a threat.  See for example:

Trump threatens to send troops to Chicago as judge rules that L.A. deployment violated federal law

and

As Trump again threatens to send National Guard troops to Chicago, data shows crime was already dropping - CBS Chicago

Trump intervened to save Los Angeles from fires and a left wing judge ruled that what Trump did was illegal.  See

Leftist claim that crime was dropping in Chicago as if Trump's intervention was unnecessary and then I saw this headline

BLOODBATH: Spike in Violence in Chicago Over Labor Day Weekend, 54 Shot, 7 Killed - Geller Report and

58 shot over Labor Day weekend in Chicago as governor rejects Trump threat to send National Guard

Both the mayor of Chicago Brandon Johnson and the governor of Illinois Pritzker, said they would defend Chicago from Trump.  Pritzker threatened that once Trump was no longer president the Democrats? would go after Trump in the courts.

The people of Chicago want Trump's help combatting crime.  In this episode April Chapman asks the question "Why don't Democrats want safer cities?"

Trump is not perfect, he cheated on his first wife, Ivana and Stormy Daniels says he cheated with her on his current wife, Melania.  Trump has said some very unkind and unfair things about his political opponents.  Of course many candidates for office do that but that doesn't make it right.  There is a lot of slander spread by Democrats against Donald Trump that isn't right either.  They even accuse him of being a new Hitler.  In fact they go beyond slander they sue him and try and get his money and two people who believed Democrat propaganda against Trump tried to kill him.   Trump doesn't do that well in debates even though the majority of the time what he says is correct.  That is because winning a debate partly involves getting people to like you.  You can speak the truth and your opponent can lie, and you can be a much better candidate for the job, but if people don't know you are telling the truth and your opponent is lying, and your opponent comes across as likeable and friendly many people will side with your opponent after watching the debate.  For example Trump gets massive rallies of supporters.  Kamala Harris his opponent said during her debate with him that people leave his rallies.  That's deceptive, I would assume people would leave any rally if they have to go somewhere.  In fact if I were at such a rally I'd leave early too, to avoid the traffic jam of thousands of people going home.  Kamala said that so that people would think that  rally goers after they hear Trump don't like him anymore and leave.  But why did they show up to begin with?  Here is a picture of some of the thousands of people who attended a Trump rally in Wildwood, New Jersey.

Many of these people come from great distances to hear him speak.  That's because they support him.

Letitia James is the attorney general of the state of New York.  She sued Trump and the Trump organization and won 450 million from them because of an anti-Trump judge.

Larry Kudlow collected clips of Attorney General Letitia James expressing her hostility to Trump.  Here they are.

When Trump came to New York to the trial in her court this is the welcome he got.

Democrats like to portray themselves as compassionate and Republicans as cruel.  Is this welcome compassionate?

Long before Donald Trump stamped his name in gold on buildings around the world, and joined the race for the White House, he was New York’s most important and bravest real-estate developer.  In the mid 1970s through the 1990s New York was decaying, and crime was rampant.  Investing in buildings in New York was a risky business.  According to the New York Post:

Trump waded into a landscape of empty Fifth Avenue storefronts, the dust-bowl mugging ground that was Central Park and a Wall Street area seemingly on its last legs as companies moved out...  he was instrumental in kick-starting the regeneration of neighborhoods and landmarks almost given up for dead...

This was the first project to reclaim Columbus Circle from the vagrants. The hated former Gulf + Western Building needed a new skin and a new image. The owners tapped Trump to figure out how. His gleaming glass facade and all-new interior yielded an Upper West Side gateway edifice. Luxury condos sold out, the hotel was hailed as among the city’s best, and Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s flagship restaurant drew gourmands from around the world. Its success paved the way for Time Warner Center and the Museum of Arts and Design.

You can read about some of his other his restorations of neighborhoods in the New York Post.  When you see a building that says Trump on it, in New York City chances are it's a building that brought wealth and safety to a decaying high crime area.

When category 5, Hurricane Milton was about to hit Florida, Trump provided free rooms in his Doral hotel to 275 linemen.

Donald Trump ran for president in 2016 and won against Hillary Clinton.  Here is a reaction of a Democrat upon hearing the news.

When he won in November 2016 America was in trouble, companies were leaving the country along with jobs and income.  He started reversing that even before he took office in January of 2017.  Here he speaks about his accomplishments to the World Economic Forum.

Just as he had reversed the decline of New York City, Trump reversed American decline.  The Democrats accuse Trump of being a racist but he hired black people to important positions and the economic boom he brought about helped blacks as well as whites.

Trump made a huge dent in the crime in Washington D.C..  Instead of appreciating him the Democratic leaders of DC sued him.  The attorney general for the District of Columbia announced that the nation's capital is suing the Trump administration over the deployment of National Guard troops within the city's boundaries, alleging the violation amounts to an unconstitutional, "involuntary military occupation."

Trump's economic boom ended with the Covid Virus entering the United States and businesses being shut down to contain the spread of the virus.  However, he saved lives by shutting down travel to the United States from China during the pandemic.   He launched Operation Warp Speed, the greatest public health achievement in history. Until now, the record for the fastest vaccine development was four years. Operation Warp Speed did it in nine months.  This achievement isn't only due to Trump, advancements such as m-RNA vaccines helped make it possible.

While in office together with Netanyahu, Trump brought about the Abraham Accords.  The Abraham Accords are a series of treaties normalizing diplomatic relations between Israel, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco, facilitated by the Trump administration between August and December, 2020. In the span of five short months, these four Arab states joined Egypt and Jordan in making peace agreements nation with Israel.

After Israel surrounded Hamas in Gaza city and the end of Hamas was imminent Trump stepped in and got Netanyahu to agree to ceasefire.  Gazans and Israelis celebrated.  As of this writing (October 9, 2025) I don't know if there will be a ceasefire.

There is a lesson here about people in general.  A person can be a great man or woman and have many faults a the same time.  There is a story in the bible in which a woman was caught in the act of adultery which at the time was punished by stoning.  According to the story the Jews asked Jesus what they should do and he said "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."  It's easy to criticize Trump but we all have our faults.  How many of us have achieved what he has achieved, how many of us have done the good that he has done?
