Privilege means an advantage that a person or group has that other people don't have. The idea of white privilege is that whites have special advantages compared to black people. Oprah Winfrey is one of many black people who complain about white privilege. She was the host of the very successful Oprah Winfrey Talk Show on TV which ran for 25 years. she was the richest African American of the 20th century and North America's first black multi-billionaire She is richer than the majority of white people. Yet she still complains about white privilege in the video below.

Here is a very embarassing moment when a black woman accused a man of white privilege. She didn't realize that the man was black.
Avery Daye in an interview said that she is really really lucky. She said that "The real privilege is being born in the United States of America or the Western World,.. being born in a free country is privilege number 1 and then being born to two loving parents is privilege number 2. It doesn't matter what color you are what religion you are what ethnicity you are where you come from, if you're black, yellow, orange, blue, I don't care, the biggest privileges you can have in the world, are being born in a free country and to two loving parents and I have that..
All of us, black and white, until recently have been very privileged to live in the United States during a time of peace. This peace is unlikely to last as China is planning to invade Taiwan and is preparing for war with the United States. In addition there is the danger of war with Russia and the danger of more terrorist attacks like the one on September 11 against the United States. I write all of us have been privileged "until recently" because there is growing antisemitism and violence toward Jews. Jewish students at Universities such as Columbia experience a lot of hatred because they are Jewish. Susan Chung Kim, a privileged highly paid oriental administrator at Columbia University reacted to Jewish concerns by texting “Comes from such a place of privilege. Hard to hear the woe is me, we need to huddle at the Kraft Center,” Columbia’s Jewish student center, where Hillel is housed. Not only are Jews persecuted but the people whose job it is to stop it don't with the excuse of supposed Jewish privilege. Over 6 million Jews were murdered in the Holocaust and black on Jew violence continues in the U.S.. Black people are privileged that the Jews don't do to them what some black people do to the Jews.
Many people believe the opposite of white privilege is true and that blacks have privileges over whites. Here is what Benjamin Rozier, the mayor of Bloomingdale Georgia had to say about this:
"Privilege is wearing $200 sneakers when you've never had a job....Privilege is wearing $300 Beats headphones while living on public assistance." Public assistance means the government gives you money to help you pay for your expenses.
Rozier, continued, "Privilege is having as many children as you want, regardless of your employment status, and be able to send them off to daycare or school you don’t pay for."
Benjamin's last statement reminds me of a friend I had in New York City who had one child and couldn't afford to support any more children even though he wanted a sibling (brother or sister) for his child. My friend complained that he saw single black mothers on buses with lots of children who were paid with his tax money for each child they have. My friend told me he saw these single mothers being mean to their children. I pointed out that if a mother had a child for money and not for love then she probably would not be a loving mother who cares about her children. If a mother doesn't care about her children she won't push their children to study hard in school. If she gets money from the government she doesn't need to stay married to a man who provides for her. In fact the government gives more money to single mothers than to married ones so she might be worse off if she stays married. If she doesn't get married there is no father around to encourage her children to study. Children who don't have a father are more likely to join gangs. The gang leader doesn't care how they perform in school all he cares about is how many drugs they sell and how much money they bring in. Then when the black children don't perform as well as white children in school many teachers say it's because of racist white people.
