9.16 Are Israelis Cruel Greedy White Supremacist Colonialist Oppressors?
Barry Weiss Interviews Two Victims of the Hamas Invasion

Anti-Israel propaganda portrays Israel as a country that oppresses the innocent people of Gaza, that has turned Gaza into an open air prison from which Palestinians can't enter or leave and a country that is committing genocide against the Palestinians. In 2007 the Hamas terrorist organization won the 2007 elections in Gaza.  That was followed by a violent battle with Fatah, which didn't want to give up power.  After Hamas took control Israel restricted the travel of people from Gaza to Judea and Samaria (The West Bank) to keep Hamas from committing terrorism.  Israel also restricted the flow of goods in and out of Gaza in an attempt to prevent concrete for tunnels and materials for making weapons from flowing in.  Israel also restricted boats leaving Gaza to prevent terrorism from being launched at Israeli beaches from the Mediterranean sea.  For this reason Israel was criticized for turning Gaza into an open air prison.   The truth is, Israel did not impose enough restrictions, Hamas built hundreds of miles of tunnels with the concrete that they got into Gaza and on October 7 Hamas attacked from the land and the sea

Israel wouldn't have had to impose any restrictions if the people living in Gaza hadn't voted in a terrorist organization whose goal was the destruction of Israel.  They, not Israel are responsible for those restrictions.  In addition Israel had been easing travel restrictions before the Hamas invasion of Israel on October 7, 2023 hoping that offering jobs to their Arab neighbors in Gaza would promote peace.  The Arabs who worked at those jobs mapped out the kibbutzim and used those maps during their invasion of October 7.  Israel had been right when it had restricted the travel of Arabs into Israel.  Israelis anxious to create a spirit of peace voluntarily drove sick Palestinians to and from Israeli hospitals.  While this was going on the Palestinian authority in Judea and Samaria was paying reward money to terrorists who committed attacks against Israel.  In fact the Palestinian Authority is paying money to the Hamas terrorists who attacked Israel on October 7, 2023.

The southern border of Gaza is with Egypt not Israel.  Egypt keeps its border closed because it has a past experience of terrorism from Gaza.  Is it Israel's fault that Egypt does that or is it Hamas's fault?  When a criminal commits a crime he goes to prison because society has to protect itself from him.  Hamas is a criminal organization and the countries around it can't let Hamas into their borders.  Israel is condemned no matter what it does.  When Israelis lived in Gaza it was condemned for occupying Gaza and after the Israeli government pulled the Israelis out of Gaza it was condemned for making Gaza into an open air prison.

The word genocide means killing with the goal of wiping out an ethnic group.  Prior to the Hamas genocide of Israelis on October 7, 2023, Israel had not been killing anyone in Gaza.  Whatever killing followed is Hamas's fault not Israels and it is not genocide because Israel is doing its best to avoid killing civilians.

Arab propaganda paints Israelis as evil occupiers and genocidal monsters.  What are they really like.  The following is an excerpt from a 73 minute long interview Barry Weiss did with an Israeli couple, Maya and Dvir Rosenfeld, who survived the October 7 2023 Hamas attacks.  Dvir Rosenfeld is the brother of Hadar, a woman who was killed by Hamas on October 7, 2023.  You can see a picture of Hadar and her husband Itai with their twins in the picture below.

They don't look like monsters to me.

Although Hadar and Itai were killed their babies are still alive and being taken care of by relatives.  Hamas didn't kill the twin babies.  That may seem strange because Hamas killed a lot of babies that day.  Barry Weiss asked the couple why Hamas didn't.  The answer is in the next lesson.  In the video in this lesson we get to know the Israelis a little and a little about how Israelis helped out the Arabs living in Gaza.

Dvir, Maya, Hadar and Itai all lived in kibbutz Kfar Aza which is east of Gaza.  Here is a map showing where they lived.

Maya spoke about the Kutz family in the above video.  Here is a picture of them before they were killed.

On October 7, the Kutz family had planned to launch their annual kite festival for peace, in which they sent kites with messages of peace towards the nearby Gaza border. The survivors of Kfar Aza still held a kite festival but they did it in Tel Aviv with kites calling for the return of the hostages Hamas kidnapped.

Oren Zvago survived Hamas's attack on his kibbutz, kibbutz Holit.  He said many of the same things that Dvir and Hadar said in their interview with Barry Weiss regarding the efforts of Israelis to be friends to the Palestinians and to help them out.  Here is a short excerpt of his interview with the USC Shoah Foundation.
