9.15 What Happened in Gaza on October 7 2023

In the following video an Arab Israeli speaks about what happened in Gaza on October 7, 2023.

Many people in the West don't realize this but as the woman said in the above video but Israelis aren't just Jewish, they are all religions including Muslim. When Hamas attacks Israel they are attacking the Arabs who live there in addition to the Jews. The woman in the above video shows us that you can be an Arab a Muslim and a patriotic Israeli. Israel is not the evil apartheid oppressive state that we are told it is in the West.

Many people talk about what they were told is going on in Gaza without knowing anything about it. Gaza is a region at the south western end of Israel. It is 25 miles long, by 4 to 8 miles wide. To put that in perspective the smallest state in the USA, Rhode Island is 48 miles long and 37 miles wide.

Israel built a high tech wall to keep Hamas terrorists from entering Israel from Gaza. It had watch towers with cameras and remote control machine guns to shoot any terrorists who tried to breach the wall. The wall was dug deep underground to block Hamas terrorists from digging underneath it. On October 7, Hamas flew over the wall in hang gliders, They dropped bombs on the watch towers with drones disabling the machine guns. They blew holes in the wall and drove through those holes with motorcycles.

Israel was not ready for the invasion that followed and as a result 1200 people were massacred and entire communities and kibbutzim turned into ghost towns. About 200 people were kidnapped including babies and old people. Women were raped, babies were decapitated people were burned alive in their homes and cars. Hamas must have known that the Israeli army would come after them after the gruesome things they did. In fact knowing that, in addition to their hatred of Israel, may be one of the reasons they were so evil. Operation Al Aqsa Flood, as Hamas called it was a trap. Hamas had built hundreds of miles of deep underground tunnels in Gaza with exit shafts and cameras from which they could emerge and ambush and kill Israeli soldiers who dared enter Gaza. The tunnels are so deep underground that they are hard if not impossible to detect and they provide protection from bombs. The Israelis who are above ground have no such protection. The tunnels run under homes, hospitals, schools and mosques. If Israel tries to bomb the tunnel entrances from the air or go after Hamas from the air they have to bomb residential buildings which makes Israel looks very bad to the world which is exactly what Hamas wants. If instead of bombing, Israeli soldiers enter Gaza they get ambushed which is also what Hamas wants. Many Israeli soldiers have died in ambushes in Gaza as a result of the Gaza tunnel trap. If Israelis are foolish enough to descend into the tunnels to try and free hostages and the booby traps don't detonate before they pass the entrances , the plan was that they'd die anyway because Hamas would be waiting for them. The Israeli army deliberately triggers the booby traps and seals off the tunnel exits. Since many of these booby trapped tunnel exits are under buildings blowing them up can result the the entire building collapsing. In order to avoid civilians casualties in those buildings, Israel warns civilians they are going to fight in a certain area and tells to get out. In fact they tell them where there are safer areas to go to. That warning lets Hamas know the Israelis are coming and enables Hamas to set up booby traps or ambush the Israelis.

If you were a propagandist on the Palestinian side, you know that the events make your side look bad. Killing and kidnapping babies doesn't score publicity points for your side. When sympathizers of Israel put up posters with pictures of babies and other people who Hamas kidnapped it reminds people of how bad your side is. The first thing you might do if you have no morals, is tear down those posters, claim that no babies were decapitated, that no women were raped and that those are all Israeli lies. Better yet, accuse the Israelis of doing what Hamas did. Falsely accuse them of raping Palestinian women. Post fake pictures of babies you claim were killed by Israel, every day on social media so that people will forget what Hamas did to Israeli babies and turn against Israel. Accuse Israel of committing genocide against the Palestinians. Lead large protest marches against Israel in which you spread your propaganda. Say that the gruesome Hamas invasion of October 7, 2023 was a justified and heroic strike against the Israeli occupation of Gaza.

The problem with the propaganda that the Hamas invasion of October 7 was a justified and heroic strike against the Israeli occupation of Gaza is that not a single Israeli was occupying Gaza. Israel pulled out all Israelis living in Gaza in 2005. They assumed that the occupation of homes in Gaza by Israelis was the cause of Palestinian violence. They assumed that if they left and built a wall keeping Palestinians out of Israel the violence would stop. Withdrawing from Gaza didn't work because both Israeli assumptions were wrong. The Palestinian Arabs hate Israel because Israel exists, and no wall is going to stop their violence against Israelis. If instead of withdrawing from Gaza, Israel had occupied Gaza they might have been able to stop the incitement in the mosques and schools and brought peace.

There is an excellent show called Frontline which created a documentary called Failure at the Fence that investigated how the Israelis could have been so unprepared. Frontline found out that the evidence of a planned attack was out in the open. I suspect that members of Israeli intelligence and the Israeli government thought that good relations was breaking out between Israel and the Palestinians of Gaza because many Palestinians from Gaza were working in Israel. In addition Israeli leaders had too much confidence in their fence and underestimated Hamas's capabilities. Milshtein, a retired Israeli intelligence officer said "The operation was planned for nearly a year". This was despite the fact that Israel kept on increasing the amount of labour permits and concessions." "The Israeli conception was that Hamas doesn't want an escalation," Milshtein said. "The writing was on the wall. They just didn't want to believe it was true."

The phrase "The writing was on the wall" comes from a story in the bible in which a mysterious hand appeared and wrote mysterious words on a wall" warning of impending doom and the warning came to pass.

As I write this paragraph it is 90 days since the October 7 attacks and Israel has been trying to dismantle Hamas so there will be no more attacks and so that they can get the kidnapped hostages back. Israel tries to avoid killing civilians but enemies of Israel accuse Israel of committing genocide against the Palestinians of Gaza and hold large protest marches and block traffic in Western countries. One place where there were protests was the city of Oakland in California where protesters demanded that the city council call for a ceasefire. Their hope is that, such a demand would influence the United States to force Israel to stop shooting. A ceasefire sounds great who doesn't want people to stop shooting each other but in reality what it means is that Hamas gets away with its massacre and Israel can't prevent Hamas from building up its weapons again and committing more massacres. At the meeting in Oakland some pro-Israel voices asked that the city pass an amendment to their resolution that would condemn Hamas and call for the removal of Hamas from power. That amendment didn't pass. People spoke up against that amendment claiming that Hamas didn't commit atrocities against Israeli children but that instead Israel did. They said that Hamas was not a terrorist organization and that it is an organization resisting oppression of the Palestinian people and that the real oppressors were the Israelis.

Hamas denies to the West the atrocities it committed as well. The denial of the atrocities is taking place even though Hamas invaders had gopro cameras that show what they were doing. Andrew Roberts a British historian who documented Hamas atrocities said:

“They are trying to celebrate something they deny happened, and deny something that they’ve celebrated happening,” he says. “It’s unlike anything else, really. Speaking as a historian, you’ve got to come down on one side or the other about an occasion [or] a big historical event like October 7, and you’ve got to say that either it happened, and it was terrible, or that it didn’t happen.” “You can’t have it both ways, and yet that’s what Hamas and its supporters in the West are trying to get,”

If people are determined not to believe the truth they can always come up with reasons to do so. They can argue that all the people who say that Hamas terrorists massacred Jews on October 7 are lying. They can say that all the footage taken by Hamas goprop cameras is AI generated by evil Zionist propagandists. There's always a way to deny the truth. One thing I would ask people like that is do they believe the attacks on Sept 11 happened and who do they think did those attacks? Some people rationalize those away too and say it was the CIA or the Mossad. I'd ask more questions. I'd ask them who committed the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai India or the April 22, 2025 attacks in Kashmir against India. If "innocent" Muslims and their supporters would never burn people what happened on June 1 when Mohamed Sabry Soliman armed with a improvised flame thrower and molotov cocktails burned people marching for the return of the hostages held by Hamas. Was that made up? Of course if a person is determined to deny the truth they'll say all of that is made up by the Zionist controlled media. These questions just make it a little harder to deny the truth. There is a video that shows the number of antisemitic attacks in recent years that shows that the attacks shot up in 2023 after the attacks of October 7. One would expect the opposite would happen but denial of the truth makes it easier to vilify Jews and Israel and to encourage violence against them.

Caroline Glick is very knowledgeable about what is going on in Israel. She speaks about the failures that led to the disaster of October 7 in the video below. She also speaks about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a great man who is villified by many in the West and even in Israel. It seems that in this very imperfect world of ours the best among us become targets.

An Israeli intelligence officer Avi Shalev, talks about the reasons for Israel's failure and said that Israel had hired many Gazans thinking that would help bring peace. Many Israelis didn't believe the Palestinians would jeopardize all the money they were making and all the medical care they got from Israel by invading. Many Israelis didn't believe it despite warnings from their own intelligence agents and even though Yahya Al-Sinwar the head of Hamas said that Hamas was going to invade in a television show called Fist of the Free. The October 7 invasion occurred when it did because the leader of Hamas was worried that Israel and Saudi Arabia might sign a peace agreement. The Wall Street Journal wrote:

According to Saturday’s report, the IDF discovered records from a high-level meeting of Hamas leaders in the Gaza Strip on October 2, 2023, during which Yahya Sinwar, the late chief of Hamas forces in Gaza, warned that Riyadh and Jerusalem were nearing a normalization agreement. “There is no doubt that the Saudi-Zionist normalization agreement is progressing significantly,” the Journal quoted Sinwar as saying, citing the Hamas records that the Journal said it has reviewed. Saudi Arabia’s inclusion in the Abraham Accords, Sinwar warned other Hamas officials, would “open the door for the majority of Arab and Islamic countries to follow the same path.” Hamas had already been planning a large-scale invasion of southwestern Israel for two years at the time of the meeting.

A similar horror to that of October 7 is being perpetrated in Syria by Muslims against Christians and Druze. Israel was helping them but then suddenly stopped probably because of orders from Washington. The Trump administration wants to get along with Syria and so probably sees Israel.
