9.26 Growing Up in Gaza

In this video Marissa Streit of Prager University interviews a man who was born and raised in Gaza who became an Israeli Jew and changed his name to Dor Shachar.  Dor means generation and Shachar means dawn. He explained to Marissa that Shachar means a new day and it's dawn and it's beautiful.  And Dor (generation) for peace between us and the Jews.  A dor of love and peace.  Something new.

  The video is the first part of the interview which is about what it was like for him growing up in Gaza.  You can see the entire one and a half hour video by clicking here.  He was taught to hate Jews in schools, schools run by UNRWA the United Nations Relief and Works Agency.  UNRWA was supposed to provide schools to provide education, not to indoctrinate hate.

 

Dor Shachar was given notice that he was drafted into the army.  He was going to be a paratrooper.  However when he was interviewed on a TV show the army changed its mind.  To find out why
