16.7 Islam and France
After Muhammad, the founder of Islam died, there was fighting among Muslims as to who should rule. A military commander named Muawiya united many Muslims into a caliphate under his rule which became known as the Umayyad Caliphate. He made the caliphate into a family dynasty passed on from father to son.
The French experience with Islam began in the 8th century when the Muslim Ummayad dynasty led an invasion of France from Spain which they had conquered previously. They invaded by crossing the Pyrenees mountains which separates Spain and France. They conquered areas in Southern France and plundered gold and silver from churches and monasteries.
The conquering Muslim invaders moved northward and clashed with the powerful Frank army, led by commander Charles Martel. A video about what happened next is embedded below.
If the Muslims had won Paris would have become a city of oppressed infidels. Instead the Christians won and 19th century Paris became known as the city of love. This video shows what Paris was like and is optional and not covered by the quiz at the end of this lesson.
In the 20th century the number of Muslims living in France topped 1 million. France has allowed millions of Muslims into the country since then and there are about 5 million now. These Muslims have rioted many times over the years. There were widespread riots in France in 2023 after a policeman shot a reckless Muslim driver when he refused to stop and fled away at high speed in his car endangering pedestrians. There were massive riots after that. Much of the left wing media said the riots were for justice. Paris is no longer the city of love. Muslims in France murder Jews. They assault non-Muslim French women. The police and the judges are afraid to do anything about it and some of them are Muslim. The judges let Muslim murderers off with the easiest sentence possible. In one case France’s highest court announced that since a murderer of a Jewish woman had taken what it termed an “acute delirious puff” on a cannabis joint he was not aware of what he was doing and so could not “be judged criminally even when his mental state was caused by the regular consumption of drugs.” You can read about that here.
Muslims are conquering France and Europe through immigration, high birth rates and intimidation.
