6.19 Pronouns
When my son was in fifth grade the assistant principal came into his class during transgender month and told the children that some students had come to her and complained about the pronouns they were called. The assitant principal then gave a lesson about pronouns. One of the wierdest rules is using the word "they" to refer to a single person. The Babylon Bee made videos showing some of the problems that could arise from that rule.
In the above video a kid says gender is a social construct but he was born this way (or was it she I can't keep track). The left tells us that gender is a social construct. That means that society just made it up what a gender is, it has nothing to do with who you really are. At the same time the left tells us that people are born trans or with a different gender, or gay or straight. In otherwords they contradict themselves.
In this video a woman driving alone in carpool lane claims to have the preferred pronoun 'They'. When the policeman asks for a photo ID she says he's racist. That's because the Democrats don't want photo ID to be required for elections. Why do you think that is? The policeman says he's 1/1000 Navaho. Navaho is an Indian tribe.
Here is another funny video in which the pronoun "they" causes problems. In it a girl or is it boy or whatever reports a crime to a policeman.
We are told by left wing teachers and others that it's important to call people by their desired pronouns. If our friend Joey suddenly wants us to refer to him as she or our sister Cindy wants to be called he, we better do it because otherwise we might hurt their feelings. The Department of Health and Human Services of North Dakota warns us that someone's preferred pronouns in one setting might be different than in another and we should call them the pronouns they want to be called in the setting that they wanted to be called it. What if a boy was convinced in school that he was a girl in a boys body? What setting might he not want to be called her and she?

These are funny videos but forcing people to use pronouns they don't believe they should use is not funny at all. Perhaps the greatest and most important right listed in the United States Constitution is the right of free speech. Forcing someone to call someone else by a certain pronoun is a violation of their right to free speech. George Orwell once said "If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear." A biological male who demands that we call him a her may not want to hear us call him a him, but he does not have the right to dictate to us what we should call him.
Imagine if a similar rule was passed about anorexics. Many anorexics think they are fat, even when they are thin. Imagine if a rule was passed that everyone had to say that anorexics are fat because anorexics believe they are fat. That would be forcing people to say things that are untrue. It would also reinforce the anorexics delusion that they are fat and have to diet. So it would be harmful to the anorexic. Likewise telling someone who is a male and has a delusion that he isn't doesn't help him, it just reinforces his delusion. No one should be forced to reinforce someone elses delusion.
The harm of such rules has been immeasurable. Kids and teens have been fooled by their teachers and by others on social media and by therapists into believing that they are trapped in the wrong body and should transition to a different sex. Few people dare challenge their delusions by calling them by their correct pronoun because they would get in trouble and might cost them their jobs. This is a very good example of why free speech is so important.
