9.32 Anti-Israel Protestors Asked Why They are Protesting
When I see videos of massive anti-Israel demonstrations I sometimes get the urge to meet these demonstrators and talk to them and find out why they believe what they believe and try to get them to see the truth. Fortunately my cowardice prevails which is why I am still intact and able to write this web page. There are others who have been a lot braver than I am and who were attacked for just holding a small Israeli flag or going to see a movie about Hamas's attack on Israelis or for saying they are Jewish or Israeli or Zionist.
Here is one case where a person asked questions and was not attacked by demonstrators. In fact these demonstrators seem nice.
At the end of the video the young man being interviewed says that Hamas does not throw gay people off of roofs. There is an entire lesson on this web site that shows that radical Muslims do indeed throw gay people off of roofs. The first question the interviewer in the above video asks is when protestors chant "From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free" what river and what sea. The answer is the Jordan river and the Mediterranean sea. All of Israel lies between the Jordan river and the Mediterranean sea.
If we look at the scale of the map on the lower right we can figure out that the width of Israel between Jordan and the Mediterranean at its narrowest point is about 40 miles. Israel is not a big country in fact its about the size of New Jersey. One of the people said that Israel has been colonizing Palestine for the last 70 years. Israel has been colonized by Greeks, Romans, Turks and Arabs among others over the centuries, in fact most of the Palestinians are foreign Arab colonizers. Even the late Yassir Arafat, who headed the terrorist Palestinian Liberation Organization was from Egypt. That same person said that Israel has been committing genocide against the Palestinians for the last 70 years. If Israel was, one would expect that the population of Palestinians would have gone down dramatically since Israel started committing genocide yet the opposite is true. During its war with Hamas Israel is doing its best to minimize civilian casualties. There is a lesson about what Israel is doing to avoid hurting civilians and what's wrong with the genocide accusation on this web site.

The problem with these protestors is many don't know anything and those that think they do are wrong yet when they all protest they persuade policy makers to take actions that hurt Israel. Israel is a great ally of the United States and by hurting Israel they hurt the United States. They may not see the impact immediately but that doesn't mean they don't have impact.
One woman was saying that Israel was committing genocide. Israel is doing its best to avoid killing civilians while going after Hamas terrorists. There would be no civilian deaths if Hamas wouldn't force civilians to stay in areas where the battles are being fought. The real genocide was on October 7 and was committed by Hamas who killed as many Israeli civilians that day as they could.
Some if the college kids in the video chanted that the police is the KKK. One young woman explained that even though she would call the police if she were in trouble the police are a repressive system. It doesn't occur to her that if someone dangerous is attacking her and the police come to protect her they are putting themselves at risk on her behalf and that she should appreciate and support them. She says that money should be taken away from the police and given to community resources like mental health and drug addiction and helping the poor would keep people from committing crimes. Although money for programs that actually improve mental health and reduce drug addiction and help the poor are certainly a good thing these programs can't end crime by themselves.
San Francisco is an example of a city where huge amounts of money are spent on social programs. San Francisco is slightly smaller than Jacksonville, Florida. Yet San Francisco’s homelessness budget—$1.1 billion in fiscal year 2021–22—is nearly 80 percent of Jacksonville’s entire city budget. But despite this enormous spending, homelessness and the attendant problems of drug abuse, crime, public health issues, and an overall deterioration in the quality of life, spiral further downwards each year.
Taking away money from the police in San Francisco and adding it to the money already spent would not make much of a difference.. Only a fraction of the money that is spent on social programs is spent on the police but that money has been shown to reduce crime.
The woman who criticized the police in the above video admits she'd call them if she was in trouble, why doesn't she call a social worker to help her when she's in trouble? She wouldn't because she knows that even if one of them showed up to argue with whoever is attacking her it would be very unlikely to help. In fact her attacker would be likely to attack the social worker as well. She argued that police don't stop crime because they come after the crime is committed. Why would she call the police at all when she says they come after the crime is committed? She would call them because she thinks they might come in time to prevent the crime from being committed to her. Defunding the police which is what she says she wants, means there will be fewer police and it will take longer for them to come. It means that they will come after the crime is committed to her because they are too few and to busy to get to her in time. That doesn't mean she shouldn't call. Maybe they would track down whoever attacked her and lock him up so that he won't attack someone else. The college kids who chanted against the police don't know how lucky they are that the police protect them and their educational institutions from them.
In the video below a protestor from Queers for Palestine is interviewed. It's strange that any homosexuals would support Palestinians and Hamas since homosexuality is illegal in Muslim countries and severely punished.
Though some of the anti-Israel protestors are nice and ignorant many are not nice. It takes a lot of courage to counter protest against them. Here is an interview of one courageous young woman who was attacked by the protestors who smashed her head on the ground and knocked her unconscious.
The colleges and schools have not taught these students the truth about Israel. Instead they hire professors who tell lies about Israel in order to get money from foreign Islamic donors like Qatar who are hostile to Israel. Those lies have to be challenged. That's why all the lessons about Israel on this website were written. It is the Muslims that have a history of repeatedly committing genocide. In fact they have killed hundreds of millions of people. The October 7 massacre of Israelis is just one of their many genocides. I just read (May 29 2024) how Muslims are committing ethnic cleansing in Darfur and shooting kids. Pamela Geller wrote: "No protests. No rallies or rich kids tearing down statues and institutions calling for ceasefire. No, they call for intifada (Islamic revolution.) " Those rich college kids probably never heard of Darfur or Sudan. Here a revolutionary (whose name appears to indicate she is Muslim) speaks about the goals of the students. Note she is not telling the truth about the students being the core of the movement which we know when college encampments are broken up and the majority of campers are found not to be students. Still there are a lot of students involved.
